JOIN ME IN HATHA YOGA
The yogastyle I’m using in my class is “Hatha yoga”: the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses asana’s (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation to work on a healthy body and a clear and peaceful mind. “Hatha” can be translated in two ways: “the yoga of activity” or the “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance.
The yoga postures in hatha yoga make the spine supple and promotes circulation in all tissues, glands and organs. The postures stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility. Each pose follows the other in a slow flow, paying attention to the correct allignment of your body in each posture. By using your breath, you can release all tension in your body and come to full relaxation.

My name is Tessa (30) and I’m a yoga teacher! 10 years ago I started my personal yoga journey in Amsterdam by trying out different yoga schools to find out what form I like the most and which style suits me best. Over the years I’ve developed my own expertise by practising yoga weekly. One of the significant benefits Yoga has had for me was to help overcome the back pains I was suffering from, by strenghtening my muscles and working on my posture. For me yoga is a way to bring (physical) happiness into life. Therefore in 2015 I decided to take it to a next level and started a Raja Yoga course to enable me to teach others what I love doing so much. I finished my first year Raja yoga and started “Yoga by Tes”, teaching yoga to others, both indoors and outdoors. I teach in small intimate groups, enabling me to really allow everyone the personal guidance and attention they need.

After a long search for the right yogaclasses I now found the one I’m very enthousiastic about. Yoga classes by Tes are truly a gift. Not only because of the yoga form: relaxing but still active but mostly because of her way of teaching. Because of the personal attention she is giving you during the class you will learn how to correct yourself in a pose to feel what’s the right and wrong. I can totally recommend Tessa’s yoga classes – they are dynamic, of high quality and fun! I am a beginner at yoga however the classes are organised in a way that it fits every level of experience. What I love about the classes is that the groups are small and Tessa gives personal guidance to everyone in the class. Tessa does a fantastic job in encouraging the group to improve their yoga skills every class.
